Class of 2021 Senior Feature: Rylee

It’s hard to believe that our graduating senior’s final recital will be here in just a few weeks.  On the blog today: continuing this year’s Senior Features with a little bit more about one of our senior dancers.  After such a crazy senior year, we want to do what we can to help our graduating seniors know how loved and celebrated they are.

Senior Year at The Pointe

For many dancers, dancing all the way through their senior year is a big goal and a major accomplishment. Many of our graduating seniors started dancing with us when they were in preschool!  We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their lives and to get to watch them grow into confident, thoughtful, and hard-working young adults.

Senior year is a special one – many of our seniors take classes and serve as Junior Faculty at The Pointe – assisting in classes with younger students and even helping with some competition practices over studio breaks.  Seniors are all featured on canvases that we print and give to seniors for a special keepsake.

You’ll see our seniors dance with Miss Vanessa in a group senior dance choreographed by the dancers at the recital, and each senior will have the opportunity to perform a solo of their choice.  Giving these dancers an opportunity to showcase their performance skills and experiment with choreography is one of our favorite studio traditions.

Rylee’s Dance Bio

Rylee is in her second year dancing at The Pointe, and is a member of our Advanced Hip Hop class.  She started dancing at The Pointe when some Color Guard friends and Miss Vanessa noticed that she had a natural ability in dance and invited her to give a dance class a try.  Rylee fit in with the advanced hip hop class quickly and perfectly, and we love having her at the studio!

“I have loved coaching Rylee in Color Guard at Linn-Mar for four years.  Rylee is naturally strong and has a unique ability to learn movement quickly and with great attention to detail.  She is an awesome leader! As a Color Guard captain, she helped us create a meaningful guard season this fall in the midst of the pandemic.  Rylee is a fast learner, has an incredible work ethic, and enjoys putting in the work to accomplish her goals.  These qualities will take her far! I can’t wait to see what she does with the next chapter of her life.”
