December 2017 Newsletter

Message from Miss Vanessa:

How is it already December?!  This year is flying by – and we’re so thankful to have the best students and families to work with.  Thanksgiving may be in the past, but we’re not past being Thankful for our community.

This month, we’ll hold our biggest & most inclusive Holiday Show ever (details here), some recital costumes are starting to arrive, we’re starting to plan for next summer (camps and classes are going to be amazing!), and we’re announcing the launch of our nonprofit oraganization, The Pointe Foundation.  Our goal is to positively impact the lives of our students, their families, and the community through dance education.  This new nonprofit organization will be a big piece of that mission.

Thank you for dancing at The Pointe – we are so proud of the great work our students are doing!

Miss Vanessa

Introducing… The Pointe Foundation!

Our new foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization seeking to provide dance education opportunities for students with financial need.  We are excited to announce the opening of the Foundation – and our first benefit event, our Holiday Show.  All proceeds from this show will benefit the Foundation!

Perform in The Pointe’s Holiday Show!

This year, we are working to include as many dancers as we can while keeping our Holiday Show an informal and short performance (Santa’s coming to see our youngest students at the end!!).  One class from each level (ballet, tap, or jazz) was selected to perform in the show (if there are multiple sections of the class, they will combine for this performance).  Routines will be learned in class this month and all costumes are $35 or under and dancewear dancers can wear again, or a t-shirt!  This informal performance is a great performance experience and so much fun.  The concert is Sunday, December 17, at Linn-Mar High School’s auditorium.  Tickets are just $5 and are available online for purchase here.
