January Dancers of the Month

One of my favorite new things we’re doing at The Pointe this year is recognizing three dancers each month who have really stood out to us in their classes – this can be for practicing and achieving a new skill, for helping other dancers in class, or for showing our PSD values in and out of dance class.  We recognize three dancers each month – one from each of our three recitals (Dance & Discover – ages 3-5, Junior – Levels 1-3, and Senior – Levels 4+).  I love reading nominations from teachers about how students in their class set and achieve goals, help each other, and show kindness to their classmates and other dancers in our studio.  The efforts of these (and other) students help make our studio really feel like a dance family.

I love the chance to recognize dancers not only for their improving dance skills, but for the way they treat others, work hard, and are responsible, thoughtful, and kind.

Here are your January 2017 Dancers of the Month!

Dance & Discover: Erica G was nominated by Miss Vanessa.

“Erica is truly a joy to have in class.  She is a hard worker, practices at home, and helps others in class.  Erica makes sure that every classmate has a friend!  She is eager to learn new steps and encourages others in her class.”

Junior: Layla A was nominated by Mr. Aaron and Miss Josie.

“Layla has improved so much since the beginning of the semester. She consistently shows enthusiasm to be at class each week. She asks questions when she is struggling in class and clearly wants to be successful.”

“Layla has such great energy and a passion for dance!  You can see how much she loves it and she works hard in every class.”

Senior: Karli M was nominated by Miss Vanessa and Miss Denise.

“Karli is a natural leader, and her leadership skills really shine in her Company classes.  Karli leads by example, staying focused in class and practicing and remembering choreography from each rehearsal to the next.  She stays positive while working hard and always gives her best effort.”

“Karli is such an organized and responsible TA! She takes her notes to have extra copies of students’ places in case I am gone. She also steps in to help me with “crowd” control so I can continue to teach and keep the class moving. The kiddos really love her and so do I!”

We are so proud of these dancers, and ALL of our dancers at The Pointe!
