June 2018 Newsletter

Message from Miss Vanessa:

We are just about one week away from our favorite day of the year… recital!!  We can’t wait to share the hard work our faculty and students have put in all year at their culminating performance.  This Newsletter is mostly about recital – and shortly after recital, we have a full and fun summer planned!

Recital is a great way to close out one year and get ready to start the next.  We love to share with family and friends the awesome work our dancers have put in all year – and then to see that work pay off in great performances and an unforgettable day.  There’s simply nothing better than giving a great performance with dance friends!

I hope your dancer is feeling excited and ready for recital.  We can’t wait to see everyone on stage at the Paramount this week!

Miss Vanessa

Recital Guide – Day-of Information

The day of recital is a big day for all of our students, their families, and our faculty and staff.  Please read this guide thoroughly to be prepared for the big day!

Arrival Times: Please arrive within the window for arrival times.  Arriving too early means the theatre doors won’t be open yet, arriving too late makes for a stressful day.  Thank you for planning for additional time to park downtown!

Dance & Discover Showcase: Arrive between 12:15 and 12:30.  Theatre doors open at 12:15, auditorium doors open and dancer check-in will run from 12:30-12:45.
Junior Recital: Arrive between 2:15 and 2:30.  Theatre doors will be open at 2:15, auditorium doors open and dancer check-in will run from 2:30-2:45.
Senior Recital: Arrive between 5:15 and 5:30.  Theatre doors will be open at 5:15, auditorium doors open and dancer check-in will run from 5:30-5:45.

Dancers who are in both the Junior and Senior Recital (or all three shows) can order a “Dancer Dinner” Subway boxed meal online here.  These will be distributed between the Junior and Senior recitals.

Please view the check-in and check-out procedure here.  All dancers (including adult ballet) must check in – we will give each dancer their complimentary recital program when they check in for the recital.  We are proud of our check-in and check-out procedures created to keep our recital safe and secure for every participant.

Recital DVD and Blu-Ray orders are available online!  The password to order is thepointe

Orders will also be taken at the Blue Sky table at recital.

Company and Community Team Information & Audition Sign-Ups!

We are thrilled to announce our brand-new Community Team program designed for the dancer who wants to perform more throughout the community!  Dancers who are interested in more performances and being a part of a productive and positive dance team should check out our Community Team (performance group) and Company (competitive group).  Dancers who eat, sleep, and breathe dance can absolutely participate in both – in fact, we encourage it!

We are so excited about our new facility!

We officially take posession of the new facility on June 25, the first day of our summer class session.  We will be ready to open our office and classes for the first time at the new building on Monday, June 25!

We will be working hard all summer long to really make the new building feel like “us”.  Over the summer, you will be able to see the improvement of the facility over time!  We will be working on some small cosmetic projects all summer long and will have a grand opening & open house with a ribbon cutting ceremony in August.  Stay tuned for more details – we want to celebrate this with as many people from our dance family as possible!
