October Students of the Month

We have (another!) new program starting up this year at The Pointe – Dancers of the Month.  We hope to lift up and encourage dancers who show great attendance, work ethic, and kindness while at dance class.  Dancers of the Month are nominated and selected by the teachers at The Pointe – and will be announced during the first week of every month.  We believe in all of the life lessons and great benefits of dance education beyond the dancing, and hope to recognize dancers who show the values we believe in and hope to teach our students.

We’ll have a Dancer of the Month in each of our recital categories – Dance & Discover (levels 1, 2, and 3), Junior (Levels 1 – 3 – elementary and lower middle school), and Senior (Level 4+ – upper middle and high school).  This month, we had a rare occurrence – a TIE in our Senior category.  This month, we’ll feature 4 dancers – though it will usually be 3.

Dancers will get a certificate to commemorate this award at the end of the month (they’re posted on our bulletin board for now!) with the details of why they were nominated and selected.

Your dancers of the month are….

Dance & Discover:  Jayla Lytle – Jayla is a JOY to see around the studio.  She never hesitates to pass out compliments and is eager to help others.

Junior: Anna Waters – Anna shows consistent effort in every class, every week.  She always practices at home and does her “homework”.  She works hard with a smile on her face always!

Senior: Sophia Wedel and Katie Martens – these ladies are our Teaching Assistants in our new Chance to Dance class.  These girls show up early, ready to work, and are clear examples of how dance can build confidence, friendships, and strong character.

Congratulations, dancers!  We are so proud of you.

As a teacher, it is an absolute JOY to watch dancers grow and develop their dance technique and performance skills as well as watching the children we work with grow into amazing young people.  I can’t wait to brag on a few specific students every month!
