summer

Regular class registration for Summer 2026 is now OPEN! Visit thepointeschool.com/summerdance for access to all of the class schedules and to get your dancer signed up before spots fill up!

A few important things to know:

  • Priority class registration for current PSD students will open on February 8! Registration will open to the community on February 10th. See below for more information on class selection.

  • Over the summer, we fit classes into just 4 days per week, so we have some combined-level classes. These allow us to offer more schedule options for families. A Level 3/4 class, for example, is suitable for dancers recommended for either Level 3 or Level 4. These are not new levels (Level 3/4 is not "in between Level 3 and Level 4" - it is a mix of dancers in both levels).

  • We are still offering packages for classes (this is the best way for your dancer to get the most out of their time at the studio and the best value for tuition!). Register for all of the classes in the package you want, then our team will adjust your tuition manually so you get the discounted package price.

  • At registration, there is a $20 deposit due per dancer. This is nonrefundable, holds your spot in classes, and will be credited back to you when summer tuition is processed.

  • Questions about summer registration? We're happy to help you by email, over the phone, or at the front desk!

Class Selection:

  • If your dancer is 1 or 2, register for My First Dance Class for class with a parent or Mini Movers if they're ready to come in to class independently!

  • If your dancer is currently in Mini Movers and will be 3 by July 1, enroll in Dance & Discover 1/2 and/or Hippity Hop.

  • If your dancer is currently in Dance & Discover 1, enroll in Dance & Discover 1/2 OR Dance & Discover 2/3 and/or Hippity Hop.

  • If your dancer is currently in Dance & Discover 2, enroll in Dance & Discover 1/2 OR Dance & Discover 2/3 and/or Hippity Hop.

  • If your dancer is currently in Dance & Discover 3, enroll in Level 1 classes (we recommend the Level 1 Core Class Package + any specialty classes)

If your dancer is in a Graded Technique class, you may want to wait to register until class recommendations and evaluations come out March 27th. Here's a tip: register for your their current level (ex: a dancer in Ballet/Tap/Jazz 1 this year should register for Ballet/Tap/Jazz 1/2, they will either be in Level 1 or 2). We will be happy to work with you to find the best class fit for your dancer if they need to make a change after evaluations are sent home!

recital

It's time to start preparing for Recital 2026 on June 6th at the Paramount Theatre! Our Recital webpage is now LIVE! You will find everything you need to prepare you and your dancer for a successful Recital season. Check out thepointeschool.com/recital-2026 regularly for updates.

Here are new updates to the website this week:

Family Dance Registration is OPEN!: Create memories you and your dancer will cherish for a lifetime - dance with them in their Recital!

We are SO excited to be continuing a special tradition in Recital 2026, the Family Dance! We have had so much fun putting this together, and we are thrilled to watch this experience continue to grow.

The Family Dance is a special Recital performance created for a dancer and ONE adult family member. Parents, aunts or uncles, family friends, or any important adult are welcome to perform with their dancer. This structure gives more of our studio families the option to get involved in this performance opportunity - and the more the merrier! The dancer and their chosen adult will learn and perform the routine as a pair.

To learn more about the requirements and commitments that go along with the Family Dance please visit our Recital page at thepointeschool.com/recital-2026 All registrations are due Sunday, March 15th.

Recital Handbook: This contains all the information you need for a successful Recital, and will be updated regularly as we finalize more details.

Recital Music and Practice Videos: Choreography is being taught in class, so your dancer should be practicing at home! See our music and practice videos folders on the webpage to access the cut music and choreography videos for your class. We make these tools accessible at home to set your dancer up for success!

Tights and Foundations Sale - In the next few weeks your dancer will be bringing home a one sheet with ALL the details needed for their Recital class, as well as a coupon for any tights, shoes, and undergarments you may need for Pictures and Recital! Please bring that one sheet and the coupon into the boutique before April 17th to receive a special discount on all the things you need!

Ticket Sales Details and Timeline - Tickets for Recital 2026 will go on sale starting May 10-12. All details regarding pricing, pre-sale timing, complimentary ticket codes, and early purchase discounts have been added to our Recital Handbook.

COMING SOON: Finale Details, Costume Alterations

skills

Skills Testing Week will take place on March 9-14 in Graded Technique Classes! Dancers just need to come to class as always, in dress code, and know that the majority of class time will be spent demonstrating the key skills for their level so their teachers can prepare for evaluations and next season's recommendations. Recommendations and evaluations are a huge undertaking for our instructors, and this week focused on key skills (a little break from learning recital choreography!) helps instructors get started on that big project.

Dancers will receive personalized, detailed evaluations (emailed home to the email address we have on file) on March 27th.

Skills Testing is only for Graded Technique classes – this does not apply to Dance & Discover, Beginning, or Adult programs.

Rollover

We can't believe it's already time to start thinking about next year - we're working hard behind the scenes to build our schedule for an incredible 2026-2027 season. To make things easy for our families and to optimize our schedule based on our community's needs, we utilize an automatic registration process called "Rollover Registration". Everything happens in April - we're sharing early so families have lots of time to think about their plans for next year and choose the best registration path for them! Here are the three next year registration options -all forms will be available beginning March 27th.

  1. Automatic Enrollment– You won't need to do ANYTHING! Your dancer(s) will be automatically enrolled in the class(es) they are recommended for (we'll match your current schedule as closely as possible). Your annual membership will process on April 25 with the final tuition and costume installment for the school year unless we receive the membership change form from you by April 17. We can add or change classes easily at any time (pending availability).

  2. Choose Your Own Classes– To choose your classes and guarantee a spot in your preferred time slots, use our convenient Class Choice Form (coming at the end of March). Your annual membership will process April 25, and we'll take care of getting you set up and registered in our software system!

  3. Opt-Out– We'd hate to see you go! If you are not planning on continuing in dance next year, use the membership change form to opt-out.This must be received by 10 PM on April 17 to avoid the annual membership payment processing on April 25.

Membership Price Change for the 2026-2027 School Year: We wanted to let our families know that beginning next school year, our annual membership fee will increase from $85 to $99. If you have multiple dancers with us, the $15 additional family member rate remains the same.

As a thank you for your continued support, current members who participate in Rollover Registration will have their membership honored at the $85 rate for the upcoming year. We appreciate you being a part of our community!

acro

We are now extending our monthly Mini Acro Private Lessons with Miss Laura through the beginning of the spring semester! These lessons are only offered on the specific dates below - giving the benefits of a private lesson at a great value.

These lesson dates are:

Saturday, February 28th- 9:00 AM-12:00 PM - FULL

  • These will be 20 minute private lessons offered once a month and will focus in on 1-2 specific skills of your choice. **With teacher discretion - for example, we will not have your dancer work on aerials if they cannot do a cartwheel.

  • All lessons are $25 + tax, due with this form at sign up.

  • All time slots are first come, first serve.

  • If you cannot make these dates or want more frequent lessons - please reach out to request a standard private lesson.

  • Please fill out one form for each lesson if you are signing up for multiple dates.

To sign up for a lesson and claim your spot, please fill out this form.

winter weather

As we get into winter weather, a few reminders about winter weather cancellations and protocols at the studio :)

  • We do not necessarily follow any school district closures - schools consider busses, walking students, and the morning commute - where we do not have busses or walkers, and most of our classes start after the school day is over.

  • If we need to cancel classes, we will notify families by email, the studio-wide BAND app, and on our public Facebook page by 8 AM for morning classes and 2 PM for afternoon/evening classes. We may not be able to reply to questions about possible weather closures before those times (if we spent the whole day replying to every individual question, we wouldn't be able to make progress on our other important work for the studio!)

  • Canceled classes for weather are not rescheduled - to make up missed classes, dancers are welcome to attend any class at a similar or lower level within 2 weeks of the missed class. Dancers can just come to the class they'd like for a makeup - no need to check with the office in advance. Questions about what classes would be great options for your dancer? We're happy to help :)

  • Every family has a different commute and level of comfort with winter driving conditions - please always make the best decision for your family. If we are open and you don't feel comfortable driving, no worries - stay home and safe. Makeup classes are always available.

Trial Classes

Did you know that we offer free trial classes for new-to-The-Pointe families - and we have a sweet deal for you if you refer a friend to our program? Families can schedule a trial class easily - just have them send us an email and we'll take care of it!

When a family you've referred signs up, please have them list your name in the "Where did you hear about us?" form in online registration. We will send them a $20 gift card to our boutique to help them get the gear their dancer needs for class - and as a thank you, we'll send one to you, too! Trial classes are easy to schedule online, and are FREE for a limited time!
