- August 14 – First Day of Classes for 2022-2023 School Year
- August 14-20 – Welcome Week! Parents, step in to class for the first few minutes to meet your dancer’s teacher and help them get all settled in 🙂
- August 19 – Community Team Performance at Cedar Rapids Kernels Game (buy tickets here)
- August 21 – Last day to purchase Recital 2022 DVDs (shop online here)
- August 25 – Auto Pay is processed for September Tuition & Costumes
- September 3-5 – Labor Day Weekend, Studio & Boutique CLOSED
When do classes start? Classes start Sunday, August 14. Our front desk & boutique hours resume on Monday, August 15.
When are the boutique & front desk open? Monday – Thursday, 4:30-7:00 PM and Saturday, 9:00 AM – Noon
What does my dancer need for class? For most classes, girls need a leotard, tights, and appropriate shoes. Boys need not-too-lose black athletic shorts or pants, a white or PSD top, and appropriate shoes. When should we arrive for class? The first week of classes can be BUSY at the studio! If you need something from the boutique, we suggest coming 30 minutes before your class starts just in case there’s a line. If you are all set with gear, plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early.
As a parent, where do I go? Parents, you are invited to step into the studio (please remove your shoes first!) for the first few minutes of class this week to meet your child’s teacher, see their studio room, and make sure your dancer is all settled in. After the first week of class, you are welcome to wait in our lobby or lounge or drop your dancer off and take the time they’re in class to run errands nearby. We have special drop-off and pick-up parking spaces to make sure your dancer can see your car when you return!
How do I stay informed and know what’s happening at the studio and in my child’s classes? Our primary method of communication is our weekly Friday FYI email – we send one home every Friday during the school year. We also email any important updates directly to you. To connect with families (and for fun), we have a private Facebook group just for our community, and each class has a forum on the BAND app where teachers share photos, practice videos, and more. We’ll send home BAND app invitations to you throughout the first few weeks of classes (bare with us, we have 80+ weekly classes and need to do those one at a time!)

School Year Classes are filling up! 🌟
We’ve added a section of Tap 2/3 and Jazz 2/3 on Tuesday evenings for the School Year. Registration is open and easy online – or shoot us an email (email@example.com) and we can get your dancer added to these new time slots!
We’ve added another easy method of communication to get relevant information directly to families – right on your phone!

Studio Lobby & Lounge
How to get connected at The Pointe!
We ask that families limit lobby visitors to one parent per child if you’ll be waiting in the lobby during class. We also ask that families ONLY have food in the lounge, and that families pick up after eating. We have wipes, paper towels, and a small broom/dustpan in the lounge so the space can stay nice and neat for the next group to use the space.
We love our studio community and truly believe we work with the best families in Cedar Rapids. We know that it takes a village to raise up awesome kids, and our studio community can be a part of your village. Attendance in class is crucial for dancers to learn and grow. We can only teach students who are in class 🙂 However, we know that things happen and kids may need to miss occasionally. Boutique & Front Desk Hours
We’re happy to help ! We catch up on studio voicemails, emails, and are available at the front desk from 4:30-7:00 Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 AM – Noon on Saturday mornings.
