Parents and dancers walk in to the studio each week and the first thing they see is our “culture poster” – a big, visual reminder of what we’re all about at The Pointe. Our poster idea came from our affiliation with More Than Just Great Dancing, a licensed affiliation of dance studios that subscribe to a higher standard of dance instruction and management practices. As part of this dynamic network of 200+ dance studios worldwide, More Than Just Great Dancing provides leadership training, quality curricula and programming, and staff development to every affiliate studio.
At The Pointe, we’ve always been committed to providing safe, healthy, and positive dance education to every student that comes through our doors. We believe strongly in the positive power of dance education to impact the lives of dance students and their families. Our programs are designed to not only train skilled dancers, but to help build up respectful, confident, and conscientious young people who share their gifts and talents with the community. Our faculty serve as positive and trustworthy role models for our students – we know that “it takes a village”, and we really view our instructors and staff as a part of the village for each and every dancer at the studio.
Above all else, The Pointe School of Dance is committed to being a welcoming, nurturing space for dancers of all ages, abilities, and levels. We truly are a “family” and emphasis is placed on the process of learning, setting goals, and acquiring skills, while having fun.
To us, dance education has always been about MORE than just the dance training. Our partnership with More Than Just Great Dancing and some of the top studios in the nation helps us continue improving in all areas of the studio to be the place for positive dance experiences in Cedar Rapids.
