Dancers of the Month – October 2018

Every month, our staff team takes some time to reflect on the great things happening in the studio and the amazing kids we work with, and we select a few dancers to honor with the title of “Dancer of the Month”.  Our Dancers of the Month stand out in and out of the studio for their great work ethic, consistent kindness, taking initiative, and drive to continue to improve individually and help others.  One of the best parts of my job as the studio director is reviewing the nominations from our staff – selecting just one dancer in each category can be challenging, but it’s amazing to take a moment and sit back to reflect on all of the great things happening at The Pointe in and out of classes every single day.

This year, we’ve added to the Dancers of the Month blog post – and we’re also featuring one of our graduating seniors and a member of our staff.  We believe that our studio is so special because of the people we share it with – our students, their parents, and our incredible staff team.  Please join us in celebrating and congratulating October’s Dancers of the Month!

Dance & Discover: Veda R
Veda was nominated by Miss Katie Terrell: “Veda has been a great helper in my Dance and Discover Class! She and her mom come early to the studio every Saturday so that Veda can help me set up our dance room. Veda is also a hard worker. She watches carefully and listens to the instructions very well. Her enthusiasm for dance is contagious: I have seen her help her dance friends with challenging steps several times. I have greatly appreciated Veda’s help and love having her dance with me in my class!”

Chance to Dance: Elise S
Elise was nominated by Miss Denise: “Elise comes to class with a smile and an infectious enthusiasm that makes everyone around her so happy to be with her! She is an absolute joy to have in our program!”

Levels 1-3: Lucy A
Lucy was nominated by Miss Beth and Miss Vanessa: “Lucy is a hard worker in every class, and a helpful teammate in Mini Company!  Lucy comes to every class and rehearsal ready to work hard and have fun.  She always gives her best effort, is kind to other dancers, and always finds ways to help her teachers and friends.”

Levels 4+: Riley C
Riley was nominated by Miss Josie, Miss Laura, and Miss Vanessa: “Riley is working super hard in every class and asks smart, constructive questions.  She is taking control of her class time and corrections from teachers to consistently improve.  Riley is excited to learn and work hard, and encourages her teammates in Company and classmates in her weekly classes to be their best and try new skills.  Riley is getting this year off to a great start, and we can’t wait to see how she continues to grow throughout the season!”
