There will be no classes, front desk, or boutique hours on November 19-25 for Thanksgiving Break. All operations will resume as scheduled on Sunday, November 26th.

DVD’s from Recital 2023 are here and ready for pickup! Please come into the studio during any of our open front desk hours after Thanksgiving Break to get yours!

Nutcracker Registration is now CLOSED. If you are performing, please keep an eye on your Performance Handbook. We will be adding new information regularly as we continue planning for this performance. You can find this handbook at thepointeschool.com/nutcracker

Here are your handbook updates for this week.

Costume Rental Protocols: All costumes have made their way home! Please read through our costume rental protocols in the Nutcracker Handbook so you can learn the expectations for taking care of your costumes at home and returning them at the end of the performance.

Skin Tone Leotards Available for Pickup: If you ordered a skin tone leotard for your dancer through the studio via your Nutcracker Registration – those are available for pickup at the front desk. Please get yours during any of our open front desk hours.

Ticket Sales: Online ticket sales are open now! Order yours here through December 16th.

Dress Rehearsal Details: The full details and schedule for our Dress Rehearsal on Friday, December 15th at Linn-Mar High School are now listed in the Nutcracker Handbook. Please read this thoroughly so you know where your dancer needs to be and when!

Performance Day Details: The full details and schedule for our Performance Day on Sunday, December 17th at Linn-Mar High School are now listed in the Nutcracker Handbook. Please read this thoroughly so you are up to date on our schedule and protocols for a successful performance day!

OPTIONAL Holiday Photo Opportunity: We have built in some time for your dancer to take optional Holiday Photos in their Nutcracker costumes at Dress Rehearsal! Please see the Nutcracker Handbook for full details.

Nutcracker T-Shirt Sales: With your performance package, each dancer will receive a Nutcracker Cast T-Shirt. If you are looking for additional T-Shirts for friends or family, those can be purchased at this link. Your dancer’s t-shirt has already been ordered – this link is only for additional purchases.

Here are your handbook updates for this week.

SHOW TIME ADJUSTMENT: Due to performance enrollment, we have made the decision to reduce this performance to just one show. ALL dancers will perform in the 1:00 PM Show, and we expect it to be about 45-60 minutes in length.

Class Song & Costume Assignments: Please take a look at the Holiday Showcase Performance Handbook to see the song and costume accessories selections for each class.

Costume Accessories Pickup: Your dancer’s instructor will begin handing out costume accessories after Thanksgiving Break. Take them home and keep them safe until the performance on December 10th!

Performance Day Details: The full details and schedule for our Performance Day on Sunday, December 10th at The Pointe School of Dance are now listed in the Holiday Showcase Handbook. Please read this thoroughly so you are up to date on our schedule and protocols for a successful performance day!

Experience the magic of some of the most world-renowned classical ballets! We are offering a unique opportunity for your dancers to immerse themselves into the story, technique, and choreography just like a professional ballet dancer! We have clinic options appropriate for every dancer in Level 1 and up spread out throughout the year!

Clinic Dates:

  • Friday, January 12th — Coppélia
  • Friday, February 16th — Romeo and Juliet
  • Friday, May 17th — Don Quixote

Clinic Schedule (these times and prices will remain consistent throughout all dates)

  • Storytime: 4:45-5:15 PM (This portion is FREE, and available to all dancers age 6+ to learn the story behind each of these famous ballets)
  • Ballet 1/2: 5:15-5:45 PM ($12)
  • Ballet 3/4: 5:45-6:30 PM ($15)
  • Ballet 5+ (pointe shoes optional for Intermediate Pointe and up): 6:30-7:30 PM ($18)

Did you know that we offer free trial classes for new-to-The-Pointe families – and we have a sweet deal for you if you refer a friend to our program? Families can schedule a trial class easily – just have them send us an email and we’ll take care of it!

When a family you’ve referred signs up, please have them list your name in the “Where did you hear about us?” form in online registration. We will send them a $20 gift card to our boutique to help them get the gear their dancer needs for class – and as a thank you, we’ll send one to you, too! Trial classes are easy to schedule online, and are FREE for a limited time!

We’ve added another easy method of communication to get relevant information directly to families – right on your phone!

Studio Lobby & Lounge
We ask that families limit lobby visitors to one parent per child if you’ll be waiting in the lobby during class.  We also ask that families ONLY have food in the lounge, and to pick up after eating. We have wipes, paper towels, and a small broom/dustpan in the lounge so the space can stay nice and neat for the next group to use the space.

Absences
Attendance in class is crucial for dancers to learn and grow.  We can only teach students who are in class 🙂  However, we know that things happen and kids may need to miss occasionally.  To report an absence so your instructor knows what’s going on with your dancer, follow the steps in this 40-second video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nstwEOf7e58&list=PLZkeFgMt7mR63GMRqwjdoIM8-U1mxAx-3&index=2 

Boutique & Front Desk Hours
We’re happy to help ! We catch up on studio voicemails, emails, and are available at the front desk from 4:30-7:00 Monday through Thursday during the summer. In the school year, we are also open 9:00 AM – Noon on Saturday mornings.
